Save America Homes

Saved Me Without a Late on My Credit

I found myself one day drowning in a puddle that had become my life. After a couple of months, I was trying to find the humor in it all but realized that there really wasn't much to find. After getting a divorce and loosing the beloved jeep of my life in an accident three days later, money was getting a little tight. I was going to have to sell my house. A new vehicle, a bad lawyer, and taking a job on the other side of the state to try to stay afloat, I realized I could no longer afford my home. I could barely afford the gas money to get to work.

I scraped every dime I could to complete the remodeling just to make the place presentable. I got an agent, ran out and bought some open house signs and was ready to get the place sold. I had heard all about how bad the housing market was but I figured that since I was focused and hardworking, I could get someone in no time to buy this place. It was really something to focus on instead of thinking about the recent divorce. I was going to stay positive and move forward. Just when I thought it was going to be a piece of cake, the water started rising. Well, actually flooding.

A huge local coal spill a mile away was on display from my front porch. The local market was dead in the water along with a couple of fish.  For the next year and a couple hundred packs of Ramon Noodles later, buyers were not even looking in the area. I was looking at bankruptcy. I had lost all hope of selling my house. The property value just went down the drain.

I have always been responsible with my credit. I couldn't stand the thought of bankruptcy but at this point, it was starting to look like the only way out of this mess. That's when I saw an advertisement for Save America Homes.

I gave Jay a call one day to see if he had any advice. Jay explained what options I had, what to look out for with other companies trying to hang me out to dry, and what he could do for me. He gave me more info in 20 minutes than I had had from 3 different real estate agents over the past year. A few minutes after our call, I had my to-do list and was getting myself prepared for something called a short sale.

I was stressed worse than I had ever been in my life. I didn't have any tolerance for anyone getting in my way or slowing me down. I was in a fight to save everything for which I had earned. Jay and Linda able to keep the pace moving forward even after running to a few bumps in the road. Any time something was needed, it was faxed, emailed, verified, called up on the phone, and I would doubt they even put a bow on each paper before filing it away.

Within days, the process was started. Jay was talking with my lender (which would not even speak to me about a short sale), explained to them circumstances that had led to me being upside down on my house, and I was able to get the price that had buyers coming out of the woodworks to take a look. It was the first glimmer of hope that I had seen in a very long time.

In a little over 2 months, I had some offers on my house that I didn't think were worth wasting the ink to sign. But, if the bank approved anything, that was fine with me. In a short period of time, Jay had my offer approved and my house was closed just as Jay said it would be. He didn't even seem to break a sweat.

When I found my ship was sinking, they make a great snorkel for someone with their head underwater. Jay and Linda stepped in proving that their knowledge and skills for working with a lending company and saved me from loosing everything. After almost 2 years living a life I really can't describe without using 4 letter words, I finally have my life back. I would recommend Save America Homes to anyone finding themselves in a position of being stuck with a house they can no longer afford.

Sometimes life will throw you a curve ball. Jay will go to bat for you. He makes it so easy it’s hard to believe.

With great appreciation,

Micah Smith
